Blanket PO Handling

RetailReady now supports blanket purchase orders. These are special Purchase Orders that reserve inventory to be ordered at a later date. The inventory reserved by the Blanket Order is then ordered by the retailer via "Release Orders". This feature helps prevent accidental fulfillment of orders that are meant to hold inventory for future release orders.

What Are Blanket Orders?

Some retailers send two types of purchase orders:

• Blanket Orders - Reserve inventory but don't ship anything

• Release Orders - Actual orders to ship against the reserved inventory

Blanket orders will now be clearly marked in the system so warehouse staff know not to pack or ship them.

How to Identify Blanket Orders

You can identify blanket orders in several ways:

In the Mobile App

• If you try to pack a blanket order, you'll see a message indicating the order cannot be packed

In the Web Dashboard

• The PO number will be prefixed with "BLANKET-"
